Tadika Raihan was established in 1967 by renowned early childhood educationist Datuk Datin Dr (Hon) Nooraihan Bt Dato' Amar Sallehuddin. She developed a highly successful reading methodology , Terus Membaca, which won international acclaim. Her dream to share this successful method with the children of Malaysia was her prime reason for setting up Tadika Raihan.

Celebrating Earth Day with multiple award-winning Author, Mohana Gill!

What an incredible day it was last Thursday, 24th April, 2025. We were fortunate to host a very distinguished guest, our dear Auntie Mohana, who introduced us to the miraculous moringa tree.

She brought with her copies of her award-winning books, healthy moringa saplings and an array of ingredients for the children to whip up delightful moringa omelettes and pancakes!

Assisted by her engaging young grandson, Ari, we planted 4 moringa saplings in our garden. A surprise visit by Tan Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil , Chairperson of HAWA Malaysia , supporter of the event , was the icing on the cake!

Our students and the neighbouring children from Trinity Home, one road away, were enthralled by the Ari’s cooking demo. They all tried their hands at cooking, the highlight of the day.

True to her form, Auntie Mohana generously donated her books to our library. Everyone had a good time and all of us were in awe of how , at 90, she had so much drive and energy. Her latest mission is to plant as many trees as she can … Save the Planet, Grow Moringa .., and don’t forget to eat it!!

Last Saturday, Alhamdulillah, our Principal was very fortunate to meet YAB Tun Dr Mahathir & YAB Tun Dr Siti Hasmah. She lost no time in inviting this highly distinguished couple to drop by Tadika Raihan.

Children are our leaders of tomorrow. What better way to inspire than a visit of such iconic figures of our beloved country!

Physics is fun! 🎉 The children made a wave machine using straws, tape, and clay – it’s like a magic rope that creates waves! 🌊 They learned how shaking one side makes the wave move, just like waves in water! 🌟 #ScienceFun #WaveMachine #CreativeLearning

The children from Arnab Class had a blast learning about the three states of matter – solid, liquid, and gas! 🌟 They explored how to differentiate between them and even discovered that ice cream can be BOTH solid AND liquid! 🍦🔬 Science has never been this tasty! #LearningIsFun #MatterMagic

The children learned about brain anatomy and were amazed by how each part of the brain plays a different role in how we think and act! 🧠✨ Drawing on their creativity, they used newspaper to make their own model of the brain, bringing their learning to life in a fun and hands-on way! 📰🎨 #BrainAnatomy #HandsOnLearning #CreativeKids #tadikaraihan

The children created a series of seasons and chose their favourite ones, explaining why they liked it! They learn to describe how each season feels.

They also learn to be think more critically, be more aware emotionally, which includes a love for nature.

Our little learners discovered the wonders of Allah Al-Kholiq – the Creator of all things! 🌟 They explored the amazing human body, its systems, and the incredible design behind it. 🧠✨

MashaaAllah. What an inspiring afternoon with Dr Mohamed Yunus Yasin, President of Association of Science, Technology & Innovation .

Our team was treated to a rare sharing session with this green tech scientist and STEM advocate extraordinaire. Using a simple matrix, Dr Yunus showed our team how he would approach science with our children. Common sense. From simple and concrete to complex and abstract.
He walked our teachers through practical examples and we had a useful exchange of ideas on how best to ignite our children’s minds.

Tadika Raihan is more than just a preschool; it’s a living tribute to Zuhairah's late mother, Nooraihan, whose life’s work revolved around an inspired mission—making reading accessible and enjoyable for every child.

Her unique reading method, Terus Membaca, was first developed in Indonesia and became more advanced in the Philippines, where it took root and flourished. It was even embraced by the Filipino government and spread to rural communities through the efforts of her friend Santanina Rasul, who went on to be the Philippines' first Muslim senator. It’s astounding to consider how this Malaysian method, crafted by a tenacious educator, was adapted and used to unlock literacy for countless children and adults alike.

Back in Malaysia, Nooraihan faced a country that seemed indifferent to her work. But with her husband’s unwavering support, she founded Tadika Raihan—a preschool that embodied her passion for learning.

The walls still echo with the charming lyrics she composed, capturing a love for reading that remains timeless.

Tadika Alumni Shahaz & Shalina Azman’s Dad gave a fabulous performance recently, at the Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS. Our principal, who was special guest, declared that his soulful rendition of the classic song ‘Ibu’ , brought back fond memories!

What a memorable weekend! Internationally acclaimed and renowned author of Islamic books for children, Dr Saniyasnain Khan, was at Dakwah Book Store PJ on Sun 20th October, 2024! Our Principal, who met him more than 25 years ago at Islamic Arts Museum , KL , was excited to get more of his books for our library, this time autographed just for us!
